Whilst the world was “put on the couch by COVID-19”, we used the forced closure to make our piece of paradise ideal for the “new normal”. Recently we have added :

  • WiFi (we fought it up to now but we want people to be able to work remotely)
  • Solar power
  • A thriving veggie/herb garden
  • New separate seating around the campfire
  • COVID cleaning protocols to our cleaning regime

With 4 x private and detached 2 bedroom cottages, set on 40 acres, in the beautiful Barrington Coast region, Barrington Hideaway has always been a popular destination for groups who want to connect but maintain space. The ability to connect outdoors, either around the campfire or on one of the balconies, makes Barrington Hideaway a good options in the COVID normal world.

Whilst the cottages are hidden amongst nature, Barrington Hideaway’s proximity to Gloucester ensures that guests can access everything required – from supermarket supplies to medical services, Gloucester is a well equipment country town and is only 6 minutes away. If you don’t want to eat out, you can grab some food to cook on your own BBQ or grab some takeaway on your way through town.

With the passing of the crippling drought the beautiful Barrington River has sprung back to life and kayaking, fishing and platypus/ wildlife spotting options have returned better than ever.

We encourage families and groups to extend their stay so they can enjoy what the region has to offer. A popular itinerary is as follows :

Thursday: Arrive from 11am, explore Barrington Hideaway

Friday: Work remote then catch up at distance around the campfire

Saturday: Active day (kayak, mountain bike, hike, bush walk) then have a BBQ (each cottage has a Webber)

Sunday: A lazy morning then tackle the scenic Buccan Buccans scenic walk

Monday: Work remote for the morning then drive home
